The Athens 2015 International Landfill Mining Conference is a two-day event and will be held on 24-25 of September 2015, at the Divani Palace Acropolis Hotel, in Athens, Greece. The conference is addressed to universities, research institutes, public institutions, businesses and non-profit organizations. Participation to the Conference is free.

 

As part of the conference, presentations by experts in the fields of mining and waste management will take place, analysing the technical and environmental aspects of the method and its applicability to the Greek and European space. The language of the conference will be English.

Topics of the Conference

The conference will include presentations from Greek and foreign speakers, with topics:

• Landfill Mining

• International Experience in Landfill Mining

• Recovery of Resources from Municipal Solid Waste

• New Technologies in Waste Management

• Restoration of landfills and contaminated sites

• Landfills and Dumpsites Closure: Monitoring and Alternative Uses 

 

About Abstracts

Abstract texts of a maximum 500 words will be accepted, to be presented orally. All paper abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee. The accepted abstracts will be presented in the conference website. The Abstract Submission Deadline will be Sunday 31st May 2015.
