"Our Waste...
...Our treasure"
Happy Beginnings...
The LIFE+ reclaim project has begun! The Project has officially started since July 2013, and it is expected to last 3 years. This first few months have passed quickly and our team has been kept very busy in the attempt to organise everything and achieve the agreed goals.
The actual objective of the Project is to mine parts of a landfill in northern Greece and separate useful materials, producing suitable products (concentrates), both ferrous and non-ferrous. The processing of the waste will be conducted by a temporary pilot unit which will be build inside the landfill. At the same time, public awareness activities will take place about waste post-disposal processing and its benefits, such as the potential recovery of valuable resources and site rehabilitation.
Last October, we were happy to participate at the official Kick off meeting of the LIFE+ projects 2012. It was a good opportunity to meet the members of the Monitoring Team of LIFE+ and listen to their advice on the communication strategies, financial management and milestone deadlines of the project.
Also, the new Life reclaim website was launched! We are all proud for this first attempt for disseminating our project results. On it you will find some more details about the specifics of the project, the partners, as well as the latest news. You will find it at www.reclaim.gr. Stay tuned!
